Technical Mountain Running Camp

We are welcoming you to our very own backyard training grounds – technical 12,000 ft peaks, natural Idaho hot springs, refreshing mountain lakes, stunning untouched wilderness, minimal public exposure.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Advanced Camp: Airbnb based out of Mackay, Idaho overlooking Idaho’s tallest peaks in the Lost River Mountain Range. The airbnb offers bunk style accommodations and provides a close-knit atmosphere that will be shared amongst 10 camp attendees. All meals will be provided thanks to our onsite Camp chef (can cater to dietary needs).

COST:
Advanced Camps: $800
***Each camp hosts 10 participants
*Camp spaces are reserved for people of 21 years of age or older*
*Advanced Camp is designed for intermediate to advanced trail runners, See Schedule and definition of “intermediate to advanced trail runner” for further training details. GOAT Adventures reserves the right to screen participants prior to acceptance for participation*
*Intermediate/Advanced Camp attendee requirements: You do not have to be confident on technical terrain or have significant ultra experience, but you do need to be able to handle a full day mountain adventure with time on feet. This is not an excessive mileage type camp, but it is a significant amount of “hours at exposure” type camp. You need to be aware of your limitations and strengths and be able to take direction from camp guides in order to safely navigate the more complex aspects of this camp’s terrain. Ultra running and race history is preferred. Please email any questions or concerns to initiate a discussion on which camp may be best for you. All applicants are screened prior to acceptance to ensure skillset for safe participation in our camps.
Schedule
Thursday: Arrive to Sun Valley, Idaho where transportation will be provided to Airbnb in Mackay, Idaho. Arrive to cabin by mid afternoon.
Run: Beginning off-trail running 1-2 hours, low mileage
Evening Activity: Nutrition Basics, Fueling for Mountain Adventures and Safety Briefing
Friday: Mountain Skill building Day
Run: Mid-Mileage, 1/2 to 3/4 day of “time on feet” – rest breaks built in for individualization and skill building
Evening Activity: Route Planning, Topo Maps and Technology
Saturday: Multi-Peak Link Up Long Adventure
Run: Mid-Long Mileage, 3/4 to full day of “time on feet”
Evening Activity: Hot Springs as desired, Core Basics, Injury Prevention
Sunday: Brunch, Camp Awards and Departure for Home by noon-1pm.
Run: AM before brunch optional.
